On November 4, 2024, at the 19th Japan-Korea (Korea-Japan) Speech Contest (hosted by the Hiroshima Japan-Korea Friendship Association, Hiroshima Korean Education Center, and the Hiroshima Branch of the Republic of Korea Residents Union in Japan), Engauchi Soyoka, a second-year student in the School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, who is enrolled in the Trilingual Training Special Program, participated in the Korean language category and won the Japan-Korea Friendship Association Award (First Prize).

In the presentation, based on her own experiences, Ms. Engauchi discussed how learning a language increases interest and curiosity about the other country, and the joy of feeling the warmth of human connections through communication.
